If you’re asking yourself why is my boyfriend always on his phone? You’re not alone. Pretty much every couple has one person who seems to be on their phone way more than the other. And while it feels like it’s hard to deal with, once you understand why he’s always on his phone, you can figure out how to handle it and what to do about it.

What Does It Mean When A Guy Is Constantly On His Phone?
Sooo, what does it mean when a guy is constantly on his phone??? In my experience, there could be three explanations if your boyfriend is always on his phone.
He’s Bored
Whether he’s bored in the relationship or just bored in general, your boyfriend might be scrolling on his phone without even thinking about it. Whether you’re watching your favorite comfort show in bed or waiting for your food to come out at a restaurant, it doesn’t feel good to just watch your boyfriend on his phone.
I’ve found that my boyfriend will get on his phone when there’s a lull in the conversation. But when he does that, it’s hard to start a new conversation with him. I just don’t think guys think about quality time the same way women do!
He’s Stressed
If he’s stressed from work or school or something else going on in his life, you might find that your boyfriend is on his phone more. Literally everyone uses their phone as a distraction these days, so you can’t really blame him. But I get how frustrating it can be when all you see is he’s on his phone instead of talking to you. If you can get him to open up about what he’s stressed about, he’ll be less likely to keep staring at his phone.
He’s Hiding Something
While you would hope this isn’t the case, if your boyfriend is always on his phone it could be because he’s hiding something. If you’re going through a rough patch in your relationship, he might be spending more time on his phone. Especially if you think he’s considering breaking up with you, constantly being on his phone could be a warning sign.
What To Do When Your Partner Is Always On His Phone?
It’s not easy to know what to do when your partner is always on his phone, but there are a few ways to go about it. It’s better to talk about it and put a solution in place rather than just letting your emotions brew 😉 .
Talk About It
The first thing you want to do is just talk about it and tell him you feel like he’s been on his phone a lot. You want to tell him how it’s made you feel, without causing him to be defensive. You can ask him if he’s noticed that he’s been on his phone more and if anything is going on. It’s important to hear him out and figure out if there’s something bigger going on.
Phone-Free Time
One of the best things you can do for your relationship is to have daily phone-free time together. My favorite way to do this is by going on a walk with my boyfriend every day after work. But if you don’t live together, your phone-free time obviously won’t be a daily occurrence. Giving yourselves time without phones lets you ask each other about their day and talk about whatever is on your mind. You don’t need to have a deep chat every day to have quality phone-free time together.
Conclusion
If you feel like your boyfriend is always on his phone, you should dig into why he’s been on his phone so much. The last thing you want to do is panic, jump to conclusions, and accuse him of something he didn’t do. Use those communication skills and tell him how you feel! Easier said than done, I know. Good luck!
